Coming up with a list of the top 5 Entourage episodes was definitely not an easy task. Few shows on television consistently delivered week in and week out like HBO’s buddy comedy Entourage did. Whether it is Johnny Drama’s classic quotes, Turtle’s failed attempts to pick up women, or superagent Ari Gold’s creative ways of belittling his gay assistant Lloyd there are always multitudes of laughs in each and every episode. Even Vincent Chase and manager Eric Murphy, who play the straight men in the series, manage to elicit a few laughs from the audience now and then. Add in hilarious cameos from actors like Seth Green, Gary Busey, Pauly Shore and Larry David and you can see my difficulty in narrowing down a list of the top 5 funniest Entourage episodes. However, I’m always up for a challenge, and after much whittling I’ve finally got the list down to what in my opinion are the best Entourage episodes through season 5. Read on to see how my list matches up against your own:
5 – The Script and the Sherpa – Entourage Season 1 Episode 5 – Val Kilmer is almost unrecognizable as the Sherpa-friend of Vince’s current vegan girlfriend Fiona. The crew, suffering from a difficult weed shortage, get incredibly baked thanks to the Sherpa’s excellent herb. Things get a little tense when the hallucinating Sherpa starts waving a gun around.
4 – The Day F**kers – Entourage Season 4 Episode 7 – This hilarious episode starts out with Johnny Drama claiming that E is unable to have unemotional sex, and when E tries to deny it, the rest of the boys back Drama up, with Drama going so far as to put $5,000 on the table, betting that the sex-challenged Turtle can scare up a one night stand before E can. Vince takes a piece of that action, backing up his man E and the game is on. An ex-girlfriends and a woman in a stuffed animal suit are just a few of the obstacles in this high stakes episode.
3 – Busey and the Beach – Entourage Season 1 Episode 6 – As the title implies Gary Busey has a cameo role as himself, and gives Turtle a speech that would do Christopher Walken proud. The highlight of the episode is when Ari Gold shows up at the party and absolutely lays into budding agent Josh Weinstein, lambasting him in front of the entire party. Ari Gold is always good for a classic curse-ridden rant, but this one was probably his best so far.
2 – The Sundance Kids – Entourage Season 2 Episode 7 – Vincent Chase and his crew packs up and heads to the Sundance Film Festival to watch the final cut of Vince’s indie flick, Queen’s Boulevard. This episode is a pivotal one because of the career implications for Vince. James Cameron has a cameo as the director of the forthcoming Aquaman movie, in which Vince hopes to land the lead role. However, this whole dramatic plot line is overshadowed by the antics of Johnny Drama and Turtle, who spend much of the episode fighting over a girl, only to end up in a threesome with her, and each other!
1 – Vegas Baby, Vegas! – Entourage Season 3 Episode 9 – When I first decided to make a list of the top 5 funniest Entourage episodes I knew this particular episode would top the list. Non-stop laughs throughout. Seth Green has another cameo in this episode, and he continues to push E’s buttons, insinuating he had a prior relationship with E’s girlfriend, until Eric finally snaps, and a good old fashioned brawl ensues. Ari sweats as he finds himself a few hundred grand down at the blackjack table. However, once again the funniest story line revolves around Johnny Drama. Drama heaps so many compliments on his personal masseuse that the man, though not gay, winds up waiting for Drama in bed, feeling obligated to perform whatever duties his client wants.
